General Tour Information

We provide a tour programme all year round - consisting of usually seven day trips per tour on a 8 days / 7 nights base - to selected places throughout Switzerland. The trips will give you an impression of Switzerland's diversity. Our tour programmes are generally based on public transport by train, bus and even boat. Special tours may also be run by car. Besides our standard tour we also offer some theme tours and custom tailord tours also by public transport or by private transport.

In general, all standard and theme tours last eight days, including the days of arrival and departure. However, if our 8 days tours do not fit your travel plans, we may offer you a customized tour to suit your interests and timeframe. We can offer customized tours up to 15 days. The length of tours is based on the validity of the Swiss Travel Pass, which gives you free access to the public transport system (and mountain transport installations at 50% discount) as well as free entrance to 500 museums throughout Switzerland. If the number of tour days differs from 8 days, a special minimum number of tour participants applies.

During the whole tour you usually will stay at Jui's Homestay (if not stated otherwise), which was our private home until September 2019. We will return to Jui's Homestay after each daytrip. Breakfast and Dinner is provided each day and included in the tour package price. Breakfast is served at Jui's Homestay (primarily american style breakfast and thai style breakfast at some days). Dinner is taken in restaurants either Thai / Asian or sometimes Western on the way back home.

Please Note: Due to weather conditions some excursions may not be possible on the planned date. Therefore the order of excursions may vary, or some may have to be replaced by other excursions. Such alterations are considered in respect of your safety, and will be discussed with the whole group of a concerned tour.

Standard Tour

The standard tour lasts eight days, includes seven nights at Jui's Homestay and six (or seven, depending on arrival/departure time) daytrips to different parts of Switzerland on a halfboard basis. The price of your booked tour package includes (if not stated otherwise): accommodation, breakfast, dinner, all costs of transport within Switzerland and all booked trips and all entrance fees. Not included in the tour rates are: the costs of your journey to Switzerland, costs for lunch, your personal expenses in Switzerland and any insurances.

All travelling by train is done in second class, which is at a very good standard in Switzerland, although it may be crowded a little bit at certain times. However, at additional costs an upgrade to first class is possible [more space, less crowded (if not travelling during rush hours)].

Arrival / Departure at Zurich Airport ZRH
Zurich is the airport where our tours normally will start and end. All tour participants are kindly requested to use Zurich Airport to join our tours and leave after the tour. Our excursion of the first day will start right at the airport Zurich.

Arrival / Departure at other airports
Pick ups or drop offs at other airports (Geneva (GVA) or Basel (BSL)) are only possible for a whole tour group (all participants of a certain tour). Individual tour travellers who have to fly to GVA or BSL for some reasons, will have to arrive one day before the tour starts at Jui's Homestay. Pick up and drop off by Jui's Swiss Trips only at aditional costs. Depending on time of departure, they also might leave a day after the tour came to an end. Pick ups and drop offs by Jui's Swiss Trips at other airports are not possible.

Other means of transport
For those travelling to or leaving Switzerland by other means of transport the tour starts and ends at the meeting or departing point agreed on at time of booking.

Standard Tour Programme 2024 / 2567

This tour programme applies to tours during the whole year 2024 / 2567. The Standard Tour Programme may differ a bit, depending on the season (e.g. in winter time).

Day 2 -- Thun, Lake Thun, Interlaken
Day 3 -- Blue Lake, Spiez, Bern
Day 4 -- Summer: Zermatt and Gornergrat *)
Day 5 -- Mount Rigi and City of Luzern
Day 6 -- Grindelwald First °) or Schilthorn or Glacier 3000
Day 7 -- Summer:Colmar (F) or Yvoire (F)
Winter: Golden Pass Line Gstaad, Montreux and Lausanne
Day 8 -- Departure

*) Overnight stay in Zermatt on the day before or on the day of the excursion.

°) Alternative overnight stay in Grindelwald, if Zermatt hotels aren't available.

On our daytrips we travel by public transport (train, bus and boat) in second class. There is an upgrade to first class possible (but only if all participants of a given tour choose this option).

Any of our trips (listed in the trip bar at top of page) may be booked on request, even if it is not part of the current standard tour programme. Please note: only for a whole tour possible (all participants; we can not split a tour)!

Deposit payment 33% due within 10 days upon confirmation of your booking. Your tour reservation is only definitely booked after deposit has been received.
Additional full day, including one day trip, at CHF 250 to 450 per day and adult person. Additional night only incl. breakfast (without tour) at our official B&B rates.
Remark: Adult ◊ 25 years and older. Youth ◊ 16 to 24.99 years. Child ◊ 6 to 14.99 years (child rate applies only, if accompanied by at least one parent). Infant ◊ 4 to 5.99 years at 50% of child rate. Infant < 4 years free.

Please note: Single occupancy of a double room is only possible depending on availability of rooms. A surcharge will be added to the tour rate for a booked single occupancy. The surcharge for a standard tour (7 nights) is from CHF 150.00 (low season Nov, Jan, Feb) up to CHF 500.00 (high season Mar-Jul, Sep-Oct, Dec) at Jui's Homestay. For overnight stays at external accommodations we'll charge the difference of the rate for a single room compared to the rate of a double room as an added surcharge for a booked single accupancy (all seasons).

Theme Tours

Theme Tours are in general like the standard tour in terms of duration and rates. But on some tours there might be external overnight stays (hotel instead of Jui's Homestay), or additional offers, which will result in a higher tour rate and occasionly on a longer tour duration.

Christmas Markets Tour 2024, Switzerland & Alsace/France (Tours #2024-29 / 02 DEZ - 09 DEC, and #2024-30 / 13 - 20 DEC)

Duration of the tour: 8 days / 7 nights - 5 days / 5 nights in Switzerland & 3 days / 2 nights in the region of Alsace in northeastern France. Overnight stay in Alsace at ***/****hotel(s). In France dinner on your expense.

Lavender Tour 2025 Provence, France (There is no tour in 2024 / We will run the tour in 2025 on special request)

Duration of the tour: 10 days / 9 nights - 5 days / 5 nights in Switzerland & 5 days / 4 nights at ***hotels in France. For those tours special rates apply. In France just Bed & Breakfast. Lunch and dinner on your expense.

You will spend 5 days in Switzerland (including the day of arrival and departure) with 4 excursions (1 excursion on the day of arrival). During this tour you will spend 5 days in France and will stay two nights in two different ***hotels. Some sights will be visited on the first day as well as on the last day of travel. The trip is carried out by car(s). Due to limited space, only one carry on luggage (as for aircrafts) is permitted on the excursion to Provence.

Places visited in France (depending on schedule and on interest): Annecy, Plateaux de Valensole, Gordes, Sénanque Abbey, Cassis/Calanque, Marseille, Arles, Pont du Garde and Avignon from where we'll return to Switzerland.

Cherry trees in Switzerland usually bloom from mid-March to mid-April. But of course all depends on nature. Sometimes it starts early, sometimes later. So it is difficult to predict when the trees in a certain area will be in full blossom. We therefore are not able to promise anything.

Custom Tour

A custom tour is tailord to your timeframe and interests in places to visit. We may suggest an itinerary which also may include some trips of our standard tour programme. The rate of a custom tour is calculated according to the length of stay, number of trips and places to visit. Travelling in Switzerland is done by train, bus and boat. Usually the length of stay is determined by the validity period of the general ticket for public transport from 8 up to 15 days (we do not recommend a shorter tour than 8 days).
