beo-land also may be easily explored by train, bus and boat. many mountain railways lead up to wonderful viewpoints. important mountain railways were built in the late 19th or put into operation at the beginning of the 20th century.

the «regional-pass bernese oberland» gives you free access to all public transport and mountain installations (railways, cable cars, ropeways, gondolas): for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 10 days. the beo-pass is also available with the half-fare card and for children.
jungfraujoch: beo-pass is only valid up to eigergletscher by wengernalp and jungfrau railways as well as eigerexpress. for beo-pass holders a special fare of chf 99.00 applies, instead of the full fare of chf 126.00 (adults). half fare card holders pay just chf 63.00, and children aged 6-15 enjoy free travel with beo-pass.
schilthorn: beo-pass is only valid up to mürren incl. allmendhubel. from mürren up to schilthorn a fare reduction of 50% applies to the normal fare, and children aged 6-15 enjoy free travel with beo-pass.
whether it is worthwhile to use the beo-pass on the day of arrival and/or on the day of departure must be assessed individually - depending on the planned day programme. the beo-pass can be bought online and printed out at home.

text info	for all steam fans, this trip is an absolute must in beoland. by steam locomotive up to the brienzer rothorn and back. by steam ship from brienz to interlaken ost. by steam ship from interlaken west to thun. the whole trip takes a full day.
	early birds depart at 07:12 from lädeli station at jui's homestay, and then spend 1:45 hours on the brienzer rothorn, as well as benefiting from the daiscounted 0836-ticket. if you like it to take it a bit easier, you may leave at 08:12 at the latest, and then spend 40 minutes on the brienzer rothorn. link to detailed description: steam chain brienzer rothorn.

	use the online purchase option on the website of the brienzer rothorn railway to get a seat reservation on a certain train (to guarantee a seat on steam trains). in order to be able to ride the steam chain, you have to take the train leaving brienzer rothorn kulm station at 11:15 am! from brienz we take the saloon paddle steamer lötschberg, built in 1914, to interlaken ost. on the journey, which takes about an hour, you can have lunch in the restaurant (reservation recommended). during the stay in interlaken (1:15 hours) there are many options for a lunch. however we recommend having lunch on board in the ship's restaurant and then taking a walk from the landing stage east to the landing stage interlaken west. with the pride of the fleet of lake thun - the old paddle steamer blümlisalp built in 1906 - we continue our voyage from interlaken west to thun. fortunately there were a few committed steam enthusiasts, as well as an understanding bernese population, who saved this wonderful ship from the managnent sin of scrapping. Since 1992, the blüemlere - as she is affectionately called by the local people around lake thun - has been back in regular service. the proud, old lady is now again the flagship of the fleets of lake thun and lake brienz, as well as carrier of the blue ribbon, which distinguishes her as the fastest scheduled ship on lake thun.
